21 November 2013 | Panel Discussion Event | Avoiding the Midnight Shift: Effective Project outsourcing strategies so you can sleep at night
Does your organization require certain project work to be outsourced? Or your team lacks the expertise to deliver the total project? Or is it the schedule or cost that forces you to go for outsourcing? Or perhaps, you have to outsource project work for a reason very unique to your environment. But rest assured; you are not alone in your concerns and challenges when it comes to outsourcing.
Global outsourcing is in on strong growth path and already worth some US$ 480 billion according to some research. 20131128 - PD - Typology of Management Styles for different types of Projects
When a project manager takes on a new project, he has to cope with many unknowns including the uncertainties related to the project:
- What is the nature of the project to be undertaken? and
- How should this type of projects be managed?
Not all projects are the same and can be classified into different types based on their distinguishing characteristics. While several typologies of projects have been proposed, insights on how to select an effective management style for a particular type of project is still being researched and developed.
This talk is presenting a typology-based management framework, which can assist project managers in selecting an appropriate project management style. The typology-based approach for adopting management styles can increase the effectiveness of management practices while reducing the complexity of decision-making in today's dynamic environment. 2 October 2013 | Demand-driven Value Networks: Supply Chain Transformation for Predictable Business Outcomes
- A MUST attend event for IT & Project Management professionals involved in Global & Regional Supply Chain Projects
In today’s world of economic uncertainties, rising costs, increased risks and shortage of talent, globalized and complex supply chains need to be managed differently from that in the past. Traditional, often reactive approach to supply chain management is incapable of meeting today’s challenges. Industry best practices are increasingly leaning towards demand-driven value networks which are far more responsive, agile and collaborative. Add to this, the Nexus of Forces – social, mobile, cloud and the big data – is providing new ways to manage the supply chains. Business and supply chain leaders need to understand the current maturity of their supply chain processes and create strategic roadmaps for developing relevant capabilities.
In this presentation, Debashis will present key issues and challenges faced by global and regional supply chains, as well as share process and technology best practices adopted by leading global organizations across demand, supply and product networks.
