9th Project of the Year (PoY) 2022-23 Awards
Winning Results & Awards Ceremony

On behalf of the PMI Singapore Chapter, we extend our gratitude for everyone's support of the 9th POY Awards Gala, which took place on 22 March 2024 at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore. We thank our Guest of Honour, Mr Kelvin Wong, Chief Executive Officer of the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), a statutory board under Singapore's Ministry of National Development (MND).

The event was celebrated in a closed-door setting, attended mainly by finalist companies, POY panelists, and PMI representatives. Congratulations to all companies and project managers who participated in the POY Awards, and our heartfelt appreciation goes out to all POY Panel Members, sponsors, and volunteers for their support.

PMI Singapore Chapter launched the POY Awards Program in 2014 with the sole purpose of creating a merit-based platform to recognise exceptional projects from Singapore. Projects are judged under two broad categories:

1) Business & Information Systems

2) Engineering & Construction

The POY Excellence Awards were presented to Singapore-based executed projects distinguished through innovation, value creation, complexity, impact, sustainability, and project management practices. Nominations were reviewed by an independent elite POY panel (Judges & Evaluation Committee).

This program is proudly presented in association with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EBD) and National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) U Associate, as well as the Project Management Institute (PMI).


This year, we received nominations with project value amounting to more than a billion Singapore Dollars from the following industry sectors: 

Banking

IT Systems Services-Financial / Insurance sectors

Transportation

Airport 

Pharmaceutical

Property Consultancy

Semicon Fab

Hospital Building 

 

International Design & consultancy

Large Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC), offshore and marine

Asset management and construction consultancy

RESULTS
Awards Gala Live Streamed on 23 Dec 2020

 

We are truly pleased to announce that after thorough review of submissions as well as F2F team presentations earlier this year, the Expert Panel concluded on the 6th PoY Finalists. Many joined us virtually to catch the excitement of announcing the Winners on 23 December 2020!

  • Business & Information Systems Category Awards Ceremony at 3.30pm - 5pm SGT (23 Dec 2020)

The actual Gala was held at Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore for a limited number participants to celebrate together, whilst strictly adhering to prevailing safety measures. It was by invitation only and walk-ins could not be permitted. Happy we were able to share the experience with you virtually though.

We are proud to have welcomed our Guest of Honour, Mr Patrick Tay Teck Guan, Assistant Secretary-General at National Trade Union Congress.

We are proud to bring industry leaders together as we celebrate project management in Singapore. PMI Singapore Chapter (SPMI) PoY Awards are the highest recognition for excellence and superior performance in Project Management here. We run this in association with the Economic Development Board (EDB) and NTUC U Associates.

SPMI PoY Award Categories are:

1) Business & Information Systems and 2) Engineering & Construction

Note: All “Made in Singapore” projects are eligible for submission regardless of their size or type of industry in any award categories.

  Why Could This Interest You?   

First of all, we would like to highlight that submissions are free of charge and that PMI affiliation/membership is not required.

There are many reasons why you or your organisation should submit your best project(s) by the 22 January 2020 deadline:

  • Exposure and recognition of the project(s) and organisation, both within your organisation and externally;

Step Two 
Identify your company's distinguished / best project(s) that match the predefined categories and meet the project eligibility criteria

Step Three 
Download the Nomination Form from your category and start the preparation. Whenever in doubt, simply check with the PoY Committee via poy@pmi.org.sg

Review the Evaluation Process and your Nomination documents together with your management team as well as with your customer to obtain approval

Step Five 
Submit your Nomination document(s) to the PoY Awards Nomination Committee via poy@pmi.org.sg by 22 January 2020. Voilà!


  What happens after that? 

  1. Evaluation Panel will review the nominations and shortlist to the Judges Panel;
  2. Shortlisted Nomination Companies will be invited to present to the PoY Panel;
  3. Judges Panel will make their selection of
    • Winners
    • 1st Runner-ups
    • 2nd Runner-ups
    • and Special Award recognition (if any);
  4. All Nomination Companies will receive a token of appreciation certificates / plaque. Finalists will receive a Merit Award & certificates at the Awards Gala ceremony in presence of a Guest of Honour (TBA). More on this celebratory event later.
