If given the opportunity to serve SPMI again, these are the areas I would like to help out in. Volunteers are also important as they form the pipeline for future leadership. Volunteers is one area I like to tap on to help on the outreach activities. The third area is supporting best practices in the project management discipline for the Information Security industry. Please choose me to serve the community. You can count on me! | |

I am a culturally astute PMP with multifaceted, cross-functional international experience, who made Singapore her home in 2013. As a natural organiser - attentive to detail and acutely aware of cause and effect – being the bridge between subject matter experts and business development or sales has been a constant throughout my career. Open and effective communication granted me access to influence C-suite decision makers and engage stakeholders throughout organisations. Breadth of international experience and exposure to multiple industries lets me empathise with different individuals and appreciate their viewpoints. People feel at ease working with me and entrust with sensitive activities. During 2019-20 term, I successfully ran communications & marketing, which is a two person job. PMI recognised this effort by selecting our Chapter as an early adopter (alongside a handful worldwide) to introduce their new global branding. Additionally, I provided the background research to designers so they could produce a better quality chapter logo. As co-chair of Chapter’s 15th Regional Symposium, I advocated the right decision to postpone the event and keep our community safe. I am pleased we received very positive feedback about managing this crisis. What is more, my main goal was establishing socially responsible notification and focus on the big picture to stop random messaging. I hope you noticed the change. Lastly, I led the introduction to e-voting so all of our members can finally have an equal say in matters that are relevant. LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/kocanda |
Thank you for the opportunity to present my application for re-election. I would genuinely like to build on the effort from my previous term as Director of Communications & Marketing. Contribution will revolve around the following: 1. Continue enabling local / regional structured multi-channel presence - as the sole lead on comms, I drove engagement with our fledgeling LinkedIn page of under 300 to apx. 3100 followers in just 9 months. I made our profile available for connections to help PMs grow their network. With an audience this size, I can start mixing in more customised, non-marketing content. I also launched an Instagram channel, brought Facebook, Twitter & Google presence up to speed and look forward to exploring further development. I commit to maintaining a socially responsible notification strategy and keep members informed in a coordinated, planned manner, which requires forethought and effort. 2. Regional Symposium Co-Chair Appointment - bring this mega project to a successful close at the new date. 3. Women in PM - continue collaborating to enable professional development of our members. 4. Facilitate events management – I enjoy supporting people organise and have been doing this regularly in various countries I lived in. I find that regular meeting opportunities help with networking and creating a feeling of community and belonging. This is why it is my imperative to finally kick-off the “Bring Your Idea to Life” project. |

Relatively new to the Chapter, I’d like to become more involved and active with the Chapter and PMI, meet and exchange more with members of the profession, to further my learning and as a result be able to better promote the profession outside of the Chapter and Institute. Although I’ve changed career from being a former financial auditor (external audit) with PWC in the past to managing innovation projects more recently, I’m familiar with the auditing profession, the internal audit function, and methodologies and would bring in an inquisitive mind that knows and dares to ask the right questions, which helps to pinpoint issues. As an auditor, one has to be quickly adaptable to people, new situations, new clients, new industries, and show a genuine interest and willingness to learn. This helps in understanding the internal workings of an organisation and identify improvement areas. I am familiar with analysing processes and suggesting improvements to make internal processes and procedures safer and more efficient so to prevent issues rather than having to fire fight. Being very detail-oriented yet able to see the bigger picture, I can help the Singapore Chapter uphold assurance not only regarding its financial risks and statements but also its reputation and growth. |
