Mr. Alex Siow Managing Director, Health & Public Service, Accenture
Alex Siow graduated from Germany with a Civil Engineering Degree and obtained a Masters in Project Management from Birmingham, UK. He started his career in 1981 with the Housing and Development Board, Singapore where he worked as a Structural Engineer before being appointed the Chief Information Officer in 1990. In 2003, Alex left the Housing and Development Board and joined StarHub as Vice President of Strategic Relations. In 2005, Alex was appointed Senior Vice President of Enterprise Sales. Alex then became the CIO in 2008. In 2011, Alex was appointed Head of Enterprise Risk Management and he retired from StarHub in Dec 2012. In July 2013, Alex joined Accenture as a Managing Director, Health & Public Service.
In the IT Community, Alex was President of Singapore Computer Society, IT Management Association, E-learning Chapter of the SITF and the Project Management Institute, Singapore Chapter and he was the Chairman of the National Infocomm Competency Centre. In the grassroots circle, Alex was Chairman of the Aljunied-Kembangan Citizens’ Consultative Committee. He is currently also an Adjunct Professor at the School of Computing, National University of Singapore.

Mr. Er. Yap Tiem Yew Group Director, Building & Infrastructure ,Housing & Development Board (HDB)
Er. Yap Tiem Yew attained double master degrees in Civil Engineering and in Business Administration. Er Yap is a Registered Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers Board (Singapore), Chartered Engineer of United Kingdom and Australia. Additionally, he is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute (US). In 1992, he was awarded the Singapore’s National Day Public Administration Medal (Bronze). In 2009, he was awarded the Singapore’s National Day Public Administration Medal (Silver). Mr Yap was also conferred the Outstanding Project Manager Award 2005 (Honourable Mention) from the Society of Project Managers Singapore.
Er. Yap is currently the Group Director of Building & Infrastructure of the Housing & Development Board (HDB). In his current capacity, he leads more than 200 staff to ensure the safety, maintainability and building life cycle performance of HDB properties and its facilities, as well as manage infrastructure, construction resources and land reclamation projects in support of national objectives.
Er. Yap joined HDB in 1980 and his vast experience in construction and repairs technology, project management, building maintenance and environmental management are assets which he brings to many key projects both within HDB and those on a cross-agency basis. He was the Project Director for Singapore’s first 50-storey public housing residential project Pinnacle@Duxton which cost $280 million which has won several local and international awards for its innovative design and construction methods. He is also Project Director for design and construction of The Punggol Waterway comprising 4.2 km of waterway and related engineering works, between Sungei Punggol and Sungei Serangoon which is due to be completed in 2011. He is also the Project Director for Reclamation projects and introduced various alternatives technologies to reclaim lands.

Mr. Steve Walker Chief Information Officer, Asia Pacific, DHL Supply Chain
Born in Manchester, UK, Steve moved to Singapore with his wife, Mary in 2012 to take up the role of CIO for DHL Supply Chain, responsible for Asia Pacific. Steve spent his childhood in South Africa before moving back to the UK where he worked for in a variety of logistics and supply chain roles across a number of different industry sectors. He joined third party logistics provider Exel in 1999, in a global systems strategy role and went on to hold a number of senior IT roles across the business. Following the acquisition of Exel by Deutche Post DHL in 2005, Steve was appointed Supply Chain Solutions Director, EMEA for DHL Supply Chain, and two years later promoted to Vice President, Global Logistics Solutions, responsible for driving strategic solutions globally.
In his current role of CIO, Asia Pacific, Steve is focused on quality, innovation and adding value for customers and the business. In DHL Supply Chain IT is very much customer facing and virtually every customer win (over 500 in 2012) requires an IT project. Steve firmly believes that without great IT, DHL cannot provide world class solutions to their customers. Asia Pacific is seen as the powerhouse for growth in DHL and as such successful delivery of projects is a cornerstone for success in providing customers with service excellence.
During his career, Steve has been responsible for delivering a large number of projects, many small to medium size and some very large, including the opening of new manufacturing plant in the UK, a number of new distribution centers and transformational ERP projects. Whilst he is not a project management specialist, he has developed a keen sense of critical success factors and the ability to “smell risks and issues!”
Steve holds a Master Science degree in Logistics and Transportation from Cranfield University, UK for whom he subsequently became an external examiner and provided regular lectures on Global Supply Chain Outsourcing from 2000 until his move to Singapore. He also has a Diploma of Management Studies and is a Member of the Charted Institute of Logistics and Transportation. He is co-author of the supply chain book, International Logistics and Supply Chain Outsourcing: From local to global, published in 2007.
Steve is a lifelong and passionate Manchester United football fan and looks to ex- Manchester United manager, Alex Ferguson for inspiration in how he managed his teams. Steve’s son David lives in Manchester and works at Manchester University. Additionally Steve has been researching his family history and has traced his Walker heritage back to the 1760’s in Manchester!

Mr. Khoong Hock Yun Assistant Chief Executive Officer, Development Group, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore
Mr Khoong is the Assistant Chief Executive (Development Group) of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore.
Part of IDA’s senior management, ACE Khoong brings with him a balance of industry and government expertise, and has developed strong cross-cultural management experience from directly managing global operations in Singapore, Europe and USA.
Mr Khoong is the Assistant Chief Executive (Development) and Chief Data Officer having joined in 2000 around the time of its founding. Mr Khoong oversees the development of ICT industry in Singapore, which includes building companies, manpower, technologies, and critical national infocomm infrastructure e.g. the nationwide fibre-to-the-home project which has achieved 95% coverage in less than three years from inception.
Mr Khoong also seeks to grow the impact of ICT on the broader economy by partnering industry to encourage growth ICT utilisation in various verticals like healthcare, logistics, etc. Included in his portfolio is the responsibility for IDA’s strategic and corporate planning, as well as the mandate to develop the smart cities programme at IDA.

Mr. Moiz Husain Project Executive, ExxonMobil Research and Engineering
Moiz Husain graduated from Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. He started his career in 1986 working for the Nuclear Power Industry supporting operations and engineering at a nuclear station in South New Jersey. He then moved into the Petro Chemical Industry in 1990 with ExxonMobil Research and Engineering working in Process Design and Project Development. His focus area has been Capital Projects Development and Execution in the Refining side of the business. After multiple assignments in Design, Projects, and Supervision all over the world, he is currently the Project Executive for a Cogeneration Project in Singapore.
In his current role Moiz assumes overall leadership for the Project from inception through completion and start-up. His responsibility includes all aspects of the Project, from Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule, Business, and Performance. He leads a large team of EM personnel as well as contractors to achieve this objective. Moiz brings over 25 years of Project Management expertise to his current role. He has had jobs in all phases of Project Development and brings this expertise into his current position.
Moiz has recently relocated to Singapore with his family to support the Project as it moves into its next phase. His hobbies include Tennis, running, and exploring the region. This is Moiz’s second assignment in Singapore and he loves the region, culture and food. Home is Texas USA.

Mr. Jay Wadhwani Managing Director, Jacob Engineering, Singapore
Mr. Wadhwani has 25 years of experience in the Engineering and Construction Industry. Industries include Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Pharmaceuticals. He has been with Jacobs for over 22 years where he has successfully completed numerous challenging assignments around the globe. He has significant international experience and has been based in Jacobs’ offices in North America, Europe/UK and Asia Pacific. He has extensive EPCM Project experience with a strong focus on safety, project controls and client satisfaction. He is highly motivated, results oriented and has an energetic personality with strong leadership skills.
He is currently Managing Director of Jacobs’ Operations in Singapore with oversight of $2 Billion EPCM projects and a headcount of 900+ staff employees. He has complete responsibility for P & L of the operation. He has held this position for the past three years during which time the size of the operation has more than doubled, successfully. During his tenure Jacobs Singapore has won three HSE Excellence Awards from the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) organization.

Mr. Michael Konnoth CFO COO, CFO Program Services APAC, CREDIT SUISSE AG
Michael has over 25 years of Management Consulting and Program Management experience across several industries in 3 continents. At Credit Suisse Michael leads a team in APAC that provides in-house consulting and program services to a large part of the bank. CFO Program Services is focused on the Bank’s strategic programs, particularly the global ones that go across organization units.
Prior to joining Credit Suisse, he worked at a large global and a boutique regional consulting organization. Michael also mentors selected technology start-ups.
He has Master’s degrees in both Computing and Business, and was a Visiting Fellow at the University of Auckland.

Mr. Prakash S Ramakrishnan Dy Director, Engg & Construction Mgmt, Centre for Public Project Management (CP2M), MOF
Er Prakash is a Registered Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineer’s Board and has more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry. He has been involved in all aspects of project development from conceptualization and planning, design, contract administration, construction supervision and project management for several building and infrastructure projects both in Singapore and within the region. His particular area of specialization is in prefabrication technology and he has also presented papers at several forums locally and internationally as well as conducted courses on the subject. He was involved in research into prefabrication technology during his days at HDB’s Prefabrication Technology Centre and later successfully implemented precast technology in projects both locally and overseas. He currently advises government agencies on project development matters for large building and infrastructure projects.
Er Prakash holds a Bachelor’s degree with Honours and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the National University of Singapore. In addition, he holds an MBA (Dean’s List) from the Nanyang Technological University.

Mr. Vasant Malhotra Director Projects, Jacob Engineering, Singapore
Vasant Malhotra is formally educated as a graduate mechanical engineer with a post-graduate diploma in business management. He is also a certified project management professional. He currently is a Director managing projects and operations at Jacobs Engineering in Singapore.
His 29 years of experience of managing high value hydrocarbon/ petrochemical/chemical projects has been acquired within client as well as EPCm contractor organizations.
In addition he has held positions of accountability in the engineering and maintenance functions of these large hydrocarbon plants that enable him to have a holistic view on project and business management.
His work experience has been in India, Indonesia and Singapore.
Vasant is passionate about safe and efficient project delivery and is a strong advocate of leadership and work systemization coupled with continuous improvement initiatives to ensure sustained relevance and success.

Mr. Inbavanan R General Manager - Asia Pacific, Lifecycle Solutions & Services, Honeywell Process Solution
Inba currently is the General Manager for the Services Business of Honeywell Process Solution for Asia Pacific region. He is based in Singapore and has the P&L responsibility for delivering the services business growth in the region. Inba manages a culturally diverse pool of 650 people across Asia pacific in his team.
Inba has 26 years of extensive international business management and operations experience. Over his 18 years of stint with Honeywell, Inba has held various management positions including General Management, Sales Management and Project Management. Prior to his current role, Inba was the Sales Director for South East Asia for the Process Automation business of Honeywell. He was also the Country Manager for Honeywell in Malaysia earlier during which he led a business turnaround initiative to build a standalone sustainable organization for Honeywell in Malaysia.
Inba has immense Project Management experience for well over 10 years (1996 to 2006) in managing multi-million dollar projects for Honeywell.
Prior to Honeywell, Inba was working with Larsen & Toubro, a big engineering conglomerate in India in Software Development.
Inba holds a Bachelors Engineering Degree in Instrumentation and also a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics from India. He is Six Sigma Green Belt certified.

Mr. Senaka Tiranagama Head of Program - Management and Delivery APAC, DHL SUPPLY CHAIN SINGAPORE
Senaka has an Advance Diploma from Institute of Data Processing Management, UK and a Graduate Diploma from Singapore Institute of Management. Senaka is also a PMP® accredited since year 2003.
Senaka has spent all but three years of his working life spanning over three decades in IT related roles. Started with Unilever Plc, Sri Lanka in its manufacturing plant as a trainee, after three years moved to IT and became a Business Systems Analyst after having performed multiple different roles. After relocating to Singapore, Senaka worked for EDS, Singapore in various capacities for nine and half years and joined Oracle Corporation in 1998. Over the next 15 years with Oracle, Senaka performed various roles including ERP delivery consultant, Project / Program Manager, Project/ Program Director and Head of Program Management for AEEAN region.
Senaka is currently Head of IT Program Management and Delivery for DHL Supply Chain covering APAC region.
In total, Senaka has over 20 years of Project/ Program management experience having performed Project/ Program Management roles covering many industries and geographies. He has spent later years of his career focusing on “Troubleshooting and Recovering” troubled projects while mentoring and supporting the Project/ Program Managers/ Directors.
Senaka was a board member of the PMI Singapore chapter for close to a decade and currently a member of Board of Trustee of PMI Singapore chapter.
Senaka is also an active in social circles. He was the President of Singapore Sinhala Association and spearheaded many of the relief activities for tsunami affected communities in the region working very closely with the Singapore Government and Singapore Red Cross Society.

Mr. V Venktramana Director (Cost Control), Safety & Contracts Group, Land Transport Authority
Rama has been with the Rail Group of the Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore since 1994. Before joining LTA (then known as MRTC), he was working for a Multi-National Construction Company (Bauer Engineers & Contractors) specializing in foundation and underground works. He was promoted to Project Manager in a short spell of time to handle complicated foundation projects especially close to existing MRT lines and sensitive structures. He then joined LTA and undertook larger scale project management of rail-transit infrastructure projects.
Through the 18 years he has been with LTA, Rama has gained hands-on project management experience in managing large scale Civil Engineering works for both above-ground and underground rapid transit structures. These include the Woodlands MRT Line (1996), the Bukit Panjang LRT System (1999), the Station Upgrade Project (2004) and the more recently completed Circle Line MRT Stage 5 (2011).
He was recently transferred from the Rail Projects Group to Safety & Contracts Group to become the Director (Cost Control) for the Land Transport Authority. Before his new posting, he was overseeing one of the most challenging sections of the new Downtown Line Stage 3 from Chinatown to Kallang Bahru, the railway alignment weaving through the heart of the city. His primary role as the owner’s project representative is to ensure that the key project objectives are met through effective project control and proper governance. He has successfully managed past projects within a tight schedule and budget, delivered the end product to the required quality standards, and met the stakeholders & end-users expectations upon completion of the projects.
Rama was conferred the Outstanding Project Manager Award (Senior Category for Civil Engineering) in 2010 by the Society of Project Manager (SPM), Singapore. He is also a member of the Special Task Force for Tunnelling and Underground Works for the Society of Construction Law (SCL), Singapore. He is also member of the BMC Council under the Hindu Endowment Board.
