Virtual Hands-on Agile Workshop: Building Products as a Member of an Agile Team (no pre-requisite, 2 half-days over a weekend, on Zoom)
As a Project Manager, Business Analyst or Team Member, do you want to learn more about Agile, but don’t yet have much hands-on experience?
We invite you to join us for this workshop, where you will gain hands-on experience building a product as a member of an Agile team, as well as leading and participating in Agile ceremonies.
If you do not have formal Agile training, do not worry, we will cover the basics. If you do have formal Agile training, these workshops will help you put into practice what you have learned!
We invite all of the following participants to attend this workshop and experience the learning by practicing Agile:
Project Managers and Team Members interested in Agile but with little hands-on experience
Anyone interested in Agile ways of working and would like hands-on experience
Agile practitioners who would like to participate in a collaborative workshop and share their knowledge and experience
After attending this workshop, you will be able to:
- Explain the Agile lifecycle and ceremonies;
- Explain User Stories and how they can be used to define a product;
- Explain how to set up an Agile board and how it can be maintained in Jira;
- Create a simple digital product using Miro over multiple sprints.

Presentation and Discussion Method:
- This virtual workshop will be hands-on, working in teams in breakout rooms;
- We will go into Zoom breakout rooms, so please ensure that you have INSTALLED Zoom on your computer and login via the app, not through web browser. You can download the Zoom application here: https://zoom.us/download
- This session will also use Miro board, which you are recommended to access with Google Chrome browser;
- Participating from a mobile device is not recommended because you might need to use a keyboard;
- Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
About the Presenters:
Enterprise Agile Coach
Andrew Coates has extensive traditional and Agile delivery experience, a total of over 22 years in the industry. He has delivered hands-on roles in the Supply Chain, Banking, Insurance, Telecommunications and the Entertainment sectors, spanning Canada, Hong Kong and Singapore. This breath of experience enables him to build strong rapport with stakeholders who are moving from traditional to Agile ways of working.
Certified on major frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban, as well as scaling frameworks such as SAFe and Disciplined Agile, Andrew is able to combine methodologies, tools and techniques to design a target operating model best suited for the organizational needs.
Daowen Chang is an experienced Innovation Consultant, Agile Coach, Facilitator and Trainer with over 18 years practical experience in multiple industries. She helps organizations build vision, strategies, develop Agile Innovation culture and support the digital transformation journey.
Daowen is also an Experience Strategy and Service Innovation guest lecturer at the Institute for China Business of Hong Kong University.
Agile Project Leadership
As a VP of Technology at OCBC Bank, Ravi Agarwal is a pioneer and thought leader of the Agile mindset. He has outstanding knowledge of the software development business, having led engineering teams of several hundred, and executed projects using agile and traditional methods with multi-million-dollar budgets.
He has previously held senior software engineering management roles in major global banks such as Credit Suisse, Barclays Capital, and Standard Chartered Bank.
Chow Lye Fong
Scrum Master Lead
Chow Lye Fong has over 19 years' experience in the IT industry handling project delivery and management on both traditional and Agile methodologies. She prides herself in her experience playing different roles throughout the delivery chain including being a developer, architect, business analyst, project manager, scrum master and Agile coach.
The experience she has gained allows her to easily comprehend the different priorities and coach teams towards a common goal and drive forward.
Lye Fong is currently the Scrum Master lead and coach for a digital transformation platform running regionally with 18 Scrum teams across different countries.
Kevin Chua has over 5 years of project management experience across various industries including telecommunications, material testing, air-conditioning and currently IT.
A believer of lifelong learning, he has cultivated a mindset of continuous self-improvement which he applies to himself as well as the teams he manages. Using a hybrid of various tools, techniques, events from various frameworks, he balances the management of operational support, application development and most importantly, people management.
Business Development Manager
Jonathan Lee is a Business Development Manager in a Fintech unicorn, partnering with financial institutions in their digital transformation strategies in the areas of sales and trading, investment banking, asset servicing and wealth management.
Jonathan helps enable teams to leverage the power of bots and API integrations, helping enterprises to streamline and automate workflows internally and externally while maintaining data security and regulatory compliance.
Participation is required in both days (two weekend mornings):
Day 1: Saturday, 14 October 2023: 9am - 1pm SGT
Day 2: Sunday, 15 October 2023: 9am - 1pm SGT
Pre-Work - will be sent by email a few days before the workshop / later for those who sign up after that.
Venue: Virtual video via ZOOM with team breakout rooms and collaboration on MIRO
PDUs: 7 = 5 Ways of Working + 1 Business Acumen + 1 Power Skills (where applicable, PMI ID to be included with registration)
