We held a project management awareness seminar for 30 ITE College West students in Choa Chu Kang, Singapore on 28 August 2019.
This event is in line with PMI Singapore Chapter (SPMI) initiative and global PMI's Educational Foundation (PMIEF) for creating awareness about Project Management to youth.
Back in July 2019, SPMI President Mr. Chim Hock See had a meeting with the school to initiate the process of conducting this learning session. Ms. Ying Hui from ITE West and SPMI-PMI Liaison Director Mr. Rakesh Sharma made it a reality. Both of them finalised the agenda, syllabus and prepared presentation materials for this seminar.
Ms. Annie Chong facilitated this workshop with some practical case studies where project management principles are applied on simple and complex levels. She was fully supported by Ms. Watana Chong, SPMI Director of Membership. The event was a grand success and students were active also during the Q&A session.
We expressed our interest and intention to support seminars like this in the future. We are currently looking for Volunteers from our membership base to join us in reaching out the youth. You can find this opportunity in the PMI VRMS portal.
