Harihara is a PMI-certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) since 2008, and PMI certified Construction Professional (PMI-CP) since Oct 2025. He is current Immediate Past President serving as Board advisor of the PMI Singapore Chapter (term 2025-2026). He also serves as the Co-Chair of the 10th Project of the Year (POY) Awards program and the Chair of the Major Infrastructure & Industrial Projects (MIIP) Special Interest Group.
Also, Harihara, was nominated by PMI Global as their Regional Lead (APAC) – Construction Ambassador Program Advisory Team (CAPAT) for supporting construction sector engagement as well as support PMI-CP credenial program.
Mr. Harihara has over 25 years of extensive experience in industrial project management and has successfully managed and delivered various large Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects in Singapore, India, and France. He has hands-on experience in managing international multi-disciplinary project design engineering, procurement, project management, and construction management. He has executed projects in various industrial sectors, such as energy, chemicals, petrochemicals, refineries, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, photovoltaic industries, environmental, and water treatment projects. Currently, Harihara works for the global engineering MNC, Worley, as a Senior Manager (Project Management).
He attained his Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from the University of Madras, India, and then pursued his Master of Science (CIM) degree from Nanyang Technological University. He has also obtained an Executive MBA degree from Rutgers Business School, The State University of New Jersey, USA. Additionally, he is a Certified SAFe®5 (Advanced Scrum Master, SAFe®5 Practitioner, Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM), Lean Portfolio Manager, Agilist) from Scaled Agile, Inc.
He is passionate about volunteerism and has served the PMI Singapore chapter for a decade, holding various positions such as Trustee, Director of Professional Development, and leading special programs such as the POY Awards since 2016. He has delivered speeches at international conferences, PMI leadership summits, and educational institutions on project management excellence and best practices. He has received multiple PMI chapter volunteer awards, including the President's Awards Extra-Mile Award, and recognition awards for leadership and outstanding contributions to the PM community.
