Message from Chapter President

Dear Members,

I am honoured to be elected to serve as your Chapter President for the second term. I would like to express my thanks for your support. We had a productive term last year despite being in the pandemic and having restrictions on social gatherings. With the opening of the economy in Singapore and globally, we will strive to deliver some in person events.

It has now been a month since our new Executive Committee met and we welcome rejuvenation of our chapter leaders as everybody onboards. Eight new professionals joined this term and one returned after a break.

We are excited to be putting our plans in motion and you will be seeing activities pick up again. The mentoring programme already started. We do have one mentee slot available still if you’d like to take charge of your professional growth.

In addition to existing programs that will continue, our committee is discussing further innovative areas to engage members in different areas of project management. You will hear about them in due course. Delivering membership value to you is always our key objective. We will also create more opportunities for volunteering and to gather feedback. It is important to hear from professionals like you.

There is much to be done as we begin to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic. The recent resurgence of cases calls for greater resiliency in planning and enabling services. We are all familiar with working with uncertainty as project managers. Our members have been deeply challenged, personally as well as professionally. The conditions are improving along with business and employment opportunities.

As the newly elected Executive Committee, we have strengthened our commitment to outreach and providing members opportunities for volunteering and expression. We all play an important role in the project management community in Singapore and will continue to support you and the initiatives we have planned in the coming year.

Lastly, I would like to welcome more members like you to volunteer. Please contact us if you are interested in giving back to the chapter and the community.

Thank you for your trust in us as we continue dedicating our time to advancing the mission of this Chapter and Project Management Institute.

Yours sincerely,

John Lee, MBA, PMP
