Webinar – Project to Product Approach

Digital Transformation is not possible without adopting DevOps principles and values. It is important that we change and adapt to new ways of working, else we become obsolete. It helps to have a clear common objective of co-creating value. Other aspects to address involve working with smaller pieces, breaking down silos and collaborating together end-to-end.

In this new scenario, the way project management is performed and how PMOs function also changes. We will need to be the Transformational Leader and not just remain a Servant Leader.

Projects are becoming much smaller, delivery will be more agile, teams will be more like Squads and funding will be continuous. Furthermore, teams will stay on throughout the product life and not only during the project. It is also necessary for Development teams to know testing&operations and for Operations to know coding.

We need four things in the Project to Product Approach:

1. Basic understanding of IT Projects;
2. Idea of Agile will be good but not necessary;
3. Understanding of what Operations is can be helpful;
4. General trends in the industry will help.

 Learning outcomes will shine a light on:

1. What you need to practice and how you need to up-skill / cross-skill
    to manage the new way of handling IT work in the DevOps world;

2. IT being a System of Systems;
3. DevOps cadence;
4. Project versus Product approach;
5. Continuous Project Management;
6. Continuous Funding.

Presentation and Discussion Method:

Instead of just lecturing, the speaker prefers an interactive format where participants also share their ideas and ask questions. Audience participation reinforces the learning from lectures, enables company executives to share ideas with colleagues and, in general, deepens understanding of the subject material.
