Webinar: Power to the People – An Open Space Event

Webinar: Power to the People – an Open Space Event  2 PDUs

About Open Space:

Open Space is a participant-driven event to address a specific question or theme. This event will focus on the 20th anniversary of the Agile Manifesto, which was crafted in 2001.

Open Space allows you to participate in sessions with others whom you may not normally have a chance to talk with. Like agile, Open Space sessions operate under a small set of guiding principles:

  • Whoever comes are the right people
  • Whatever happens is the only thing that could have
  • Whenever it starts is the right time
  • Whenever it’s over, it’s over
  • Wherever it happens is the right place

Additionally, there is one law—The Law of Personal Mobility: If you find yourself where you can’t learn or contribute, move yourself to a place where you can.

About Power to the People:

Let's have a conversation! This year, our aim is to let you choose and decide the topics professionals like you need in your professional development, hence the event title, “Power to the People”.

We care about the project management challenges that our PM Community faces in their daily course of work, such as stakeholder management, navigating through turbulent times like the ongoing global pandemic and also the questions that aspiring project managers may have - whether they are transitioning to project management from a different role or graduating and planning to embark on possibly a life-long career in project management.

To design, plan and facilitate events that cater to project managers of all experience levels, you get to contribute by sharing your needs, challenges and your active participation. Let's share our “pain points” as project managers, concerns while implementing an organisation wide transition, etc.. Do you need help figuring out certification roadmaps or advice from the community of experienced project managers and members who might have similar experiences?

It is also an opportunity to build your network, learn new skills and most of all, have fun.

Objectives:

  • Share experiences with fellow professionals

  • Figure out topics professionals of different experience levels would like addressed in their professional development

  • Vote and decide the topics the Chapter should prioritise

Learning Outcomes:

  • Learning about Open Space and how an Agile Open Space event works

  • Sharing experiences with fellow professionals

  • Meeting fellow professionals who likely share similar experiences

  • Discussing topics professionals of different experience levels would like addressed in their professional development
