Mr. Ahmed is project management practitioner, speaker, coach and mentor with over 18 years of experience. He has deep interest in Artificial Intelligence and Project Management, in the last few years, he presented at number of international project management conferences.
Currently, he is leading a diverse portfolio at Sidra Medicine in Doha, Qatar. Prior to this he ran a boutique consulting firm in Canada and served as adjunct faculty member at MacEwan University.
Mr. Ahmed holds a Masters from University of Waterloo. He holds PMP designation since 2008 and PMI’s Risk Management (RMP) and CISA (Certified Information System Auditor) designations since 2015.
"How Emerging Technologies and Artificial Intelligence will impact Project Management Practice?"
In the last few of years Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) moved from academic topic into reality.
The presenter will start with the basics of artificial intelligence and machine learning then delve into areas of project management where we will witness the implementation of AI tools in the near future.
AI will have a significant impact on team performance and project outcomes. PMs who are early adaptors of AI tools will be ahead of the curve.
Based survey conducted by the Harvard Business Review "54% of PM’s time is taken up by administrative tasks. Most of these rudimentary tasks that all project managers hate can be optimized using artificial intelligence. This will allow project managers to focus more on delivering value and providing incomparable solution. These fundamental tasks are from all project management knowledge areas - some of the examples are follow-ups tasks, taking meeting minutes, risk and issue analysis, budgeting, schedule management, resource assignment.
The presenter will discuss these in much more details on how AI will impact each of the project management knowledge areas.
Further, the presenter will highlight areas of project management where Project managers must focus to bring value. Soft skill is one the critical area where Human Project Manager will be successful and will be able to leverage AI tools for basic tasks. This will include our ability to motivate team member, building a trusting relationship, negotiating a relationship, ideations, empathy and intuition.
