Webinar - Learning from the best PMOs in the world
Webinar – Learning from the best PMOs in the world
While project management has become an established way of organising work and delivering change in most organisations, Project Management Offices (PMOs) have not fully benefited from similar recognition yet and their value is often challenged. In fact, you usually don’t see other departments, such as Legal or Finance, having to justify their existence. This however is a well-known scenario for PMOs, which still face a high-mortality rate. A question thus should be asked: how to make PMOs indispensable to business? Are there successful examples out there to guide PMO leaders?
Look no further. Based on her experience as a PMO advisor, co-author of the only PMO course accredited by the chartered body for the project profession and Judge of the PMO Global Awards (distinguishing most outstanding PMOs in the world), Marisa Silva, The Lucky PM, will share what you can learn from, arguably, the most successful PMOs in business.
With a thought-provoking and pragmatic approach, Marisa argues that PMOs need to position themselves as a sustainable source of value by becoming critical to the business they serve and by staying relevant. To do so, her session will present you with practical hints and tips on how to configure your PMO for success and how you too can find your place amongst the best.
Four things that might make PMOs best:
1. An interest on the dynamic world of PMOs;
2. Openness and humbleness to learn from others;
3. Ability to think critically, outside the triangle, and to challenge status quo;
4. Creativity, energy and a passion for a project management culture.
Discussion highlights include:
1. How best PMOs in the world are evaluated;
2. The journey, examples and best practices from the best PMOs in the world;
3. What a best-in-class PMO looks like;
4. Practical tips on how your PMO can be amongst the best too.
You will get insights how to:
1. Demand a better experience from PMOs;
2. Get the full business value potential of a PMO;
3. Build a project management culture through the PMO;
4. Effectively support your PMO journey.
This presentation is for you also if you ever wondered the following:
1. What is the value of a PMO?
2. What does a best-in-class PMO look like?
3. Are there any PMO successful stories out there?
4. What can we learn from the best PMOs in the world?
Presentation and Discussion Method:
Instead of just lecturing, the speaker prefers an interactive format where participants also share their ideas and ask questions. Audience participation is encouraged through online questionnaires during the presentation (e.g. Mentimeter), as well during the dedicated Q&A at the end.
